Motorcycles: Lightweight Parts That Survive the Road
Frame and swingarm components live under constant vibration and load. A weld or heat-treatment shortcut here becomes a warranty claim or a recall.
At JAI, we specialize in aluminium casting solutions for demanding motorcycle applications. Our experience includes safety-critical and lightweight components where strength, durability, finish and consistent quality are essential. From development and prototyping to series production, we support our customers in creating complex gravity die-cast components designed to meet the technical and visual requirements of the motorcycle industry.
Our services cover the full process, from prototyping to series production. As a result, customers receive chassis parts with high surface quality and on-time delivery. In addition, we meet the strict standards of the motorcycle industry by applying advanced processes. These include casting simulation, sand cores, X-ray testing, and T6/T64 heat treatment.
Therefore, with our IATF 16949 certification, JAI is recognized as a trusted system supplier. We provide motorcycle aluminium casting parts to global OEMs such as BMW Motorrad and KTM.
What This Means for You
- Complex welded designs, cleared by full X-ray safety scan before they ship fewer field failures on safety-critical parts.
- Highly controlled heat treatment for consistent strength, batch after batch.
- Advanced lightweight design support to help hit your weight targets without sacrificing durability.
- High-finish coating and corrosion protection for parts that stay warranty-clean
JAI has extensive experience in developing and supplying complex aluminium components for demanding motorcycle applications. Our experience combines lightweight design, controlled manufacturing processes, advanced quality inspection and high surface requirements.
How We Support Your Motorcycle Program
JAI supports the development and production of complex aluminium components for demanding motorcycle applications. Our experience covers lightweight structural parts, welded components and parts requiring high levels of quality, durability and surface finish. By combining development support, prototyping, gravity die casting, machining, quality control and series production, we help our customers move from early concepts to stable production with a clear focus on manufacturability, performance and quality.

Reducing Risk Before Series Production
Projects often begin with prototypes used for testing and the commissioning of production equipment. This supports verification of functionality and helps prepare both the customer and JAI for series production. For optimal start-up and preparation for series production, JAI has used casting simulation with MagmaSoft for more than 20 years. This enables us to analyse flow, stress, porosity and other factors during gravity die casting. By identifying potential challenges early, we aim to reduce the risk of costly changes later in tooling and series production.
Consistent Quality for Safety-Critical Components
The components we supply to the motorcycle industry can be critical to the functionality and performance of our customers’ end products. Therefore, we work with stringent requirements for process control and documentation throughout production. Our quality assurance includes X-ray inspection and other control methods to help identify potential deviations before components leave JAI. JAI has been IATF 16949 certified since 2018, supporting documented processes and quality systems aligned with the requirements of demanding automotive supply chains. Our goal is to maintain consistent quality and identify potential issues as early as possible in the production process.
Lightweight Without Compromising Strength
Motorcycle components often need to combine low weight with high strength, durability and complex geometries. To meet these requirements, we use both tilt and stationary gravity die casting methods. This gives us the flexibility to produce complex components using sand cores while maintaining the required strength and production stability. To further strengthen the components, we perform heat treatment processes such as T6, T64 or customer-specific parameters, controlled through our automated heat treatment systems. This combination of casting expertise, complex core solutions and controlled heat treatment helps our customers achieve lightweight components without compromising durability and performance.
