High-Performance Aluminum Gravity Die Casting Solutions for the Motorcycle Segment
We specialise in tailored motorcycle aluminium casting solutions for the motorcycle industry. Our lightweight components improve both durability and aesthetics. Moreover, our experience in aluminium casting has helped customers worldwide develop critical parts. For example, we have produced rear suspensions for well-known motorcycle brands.
Our services cover the full process, from prototyping to serial production. As a result, customers receive chassis parts with high surface quality and on-time delivery. In addition, we meet the strict standards of the motorcycle industry by applying advanced processes. These include casting simulation, sand cores, X-ray testing and T6/T64 heat treatment.
Therefore, with our IATF 16949 certification, JAI is recognised as a trusted system supplier. We provide motorcycle aluminium casting parts to global OEMs such as BMW Motorrad and KTM.
Within the automotive industry, JAI has extensive experience in developing and supplying components for motorcycles, e-mobility solutions, trucks, off-highway vehicles, hydraulic pumps, and more.
Aluminium parts, we have assisted our automotive customers in developing and now deliver globally, include:
- Rear wheel suspensions for motorcycles
- Battery housings for hybrid/electric vehicles
- Casings for indirect engine cooling
- Pumps for power take-off systems
- Housings for EGR systems (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)
- Air ducts for trucks
- Cast components for welding onto charge air coolers
The components we supply to the automotive industry are critical to the functionality of our customers’ end products. Therefore, we meet the stringent requirements for process control and documentation, including gravity die casting, machining, and robotic welding, ensuring key properties such as tolerances, tightness, strength, cleanliness, assembly, and logistics concepts.
Projects often begin with the delivery of prototypes, which our automotive customers use for various tests and the commissioning of their production equipment. This ensures functionality, verification, and preparation of both the customer’s and JAI’s automated production lines for series production, including gravity die casting.
For optimal startup and preparation for series production at a consistently high quality level, we have utilized casting simulation with Magmasoft for over 20 years. This enables us to analyze flow, stress, porosity, and more during gravity die casting.
Over the years, we have adhered to automotive industry standards and has since 2018 been TS IATF 16949 certified.
To meet our customers’ increasing demands for complex designs in gravity die casting that combine high strength with low weight, we use both tilt and stationary casting methods. These approaches provide the flexibility to design components with sand cores (cold box). For even greater design freedom, we offer robotic welding of two cast aluminum components into a single complex part, achieving reduced weight through enhanced hollow spaces.
To further strengthen the components, we perform heat treatment processes such as T6, T64, or customer-specific parameters, all controlled by computer on our fully automated heat treatment systems.
